Background Information on Products in the Assembly
An assembly that reflects Martin Luther King’s observation: “ In the morning we drink coffee provided for us a South American, or tea by a Chinese, or cocoa by a West African. Before we leave for our jobs we’re already indebted to more than half the world”.

An assembly designed to raise awareness Fairtrade and contrast the lives of Fairtrade and non-Fairtrade producers of the popular products tea, coffee and cocoa.
Exposes pupils to the problems faced by producers from poor countries and the benefits from Fairtrade. The FAIRTRADE Mark appears now on over 2000 different retail products.
Contrasts Fairtrade and non-Fairtrade banana growers. Trade & Chocolate and Going Bananas come from a RISC pack All You Need for a Fairtrade Assembly and can be ordered from www.risc.org.uk.
